Katie Clemens and her family moved to Folsom from Salem, Oregon, a few months ago and she has already found things she likes about her new home: warmer weather and a nearby Barnes & Noble to name just two things.
The 14-year-old freshman at Folsom High is also into distance running and she should enjoy the local trails near her house. As a seventh grader, Clemens posted a mile time of 5 minutes, 40 seconds. Her eighth-grade track and field season was cancelled because of COVID, so she’s anxiously looking forward to her freshman cross country season at Folsom High. Her coach, Steve Kinoshita, is also looking forward to seeing her run.
“Katie is dedicated, hard working and very coachable,” Kinoshita said. “She has a very bright future in the sport of distance running.”
