Folsom kicked off the 19-20 Girls Wrestling season in a big way! The Folsom Girls Tournament was held on Saturday, November 30, 2019. The tournament and Girls Wrestling has been growing every year and the tournament more than doubled in entries this year. Over 270 female wrestlers competed in the day long event. Athletes from all across the state.

Folsom had 5 wrestlers, including the two Lopez sisters and they went to work. The competition was intense. Competition at all weight classes could be seen simultaneously on 6 mats throughout the day.

In the end both Lopez sisters were at the top of two of the awards stands!

Diamond Lopez (10), weighing in at 86 pounds, crushing the 101lb weight class,  with 3 falls in a row!

Desinee Lopez (12) who has competed in this tournament every year of her HS career, took the championship at 121lbs for the first year at this tournament! Well earned and congratulations!

Clare Gallaway (10) fought hard in her first match to come out with the win in the final seconds, and had a couple of good matches after that.

Laney Pahland (10)fought hard and racked up 2 pins to come out with wins on the day.
