A season ago, Folsom High’s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section championship race. Head coach Steve Kinoshita is hoping for another strong season this year.
Kinoshita expects a roster of near 50 when practice officially starts Aug. 12. For the most part, he said a majority of the expected team members put in good work over the summer.
“I’d say 60 to 70 percent trained hard over the summer and looked good in summer workouts,” Kinoshita said. “We have a program for them to follow, and they each have a running log to fill out. I think we’ll have a couple kids who have really improved and will come out of nowhere this season.”
