Folsom High School’s wrestlers have now competed in 2 of 3 long days of competition at the State Championships in Bakersfield.

Desinee Lopez, Junior (116) won both of her matches by pins and sailed into the quarterfinals on Friday!

Kyle Richard, Senior (220) won his 1st match by pinning his opponent in 18 seconds! He then won his second match by a medical forfeit. He advances to Friday’s quarterfinals.

Miranda DiBenedetto, Junior (106) won her first match by pin. She then lost her seond match to the #2 seed in her weight class. She also advances to Friday’s competition.

Evan Taylor, Senior (113) lost his first match to the #1 seed in his weight class. He bounced back with a win 5-4. He will also advance to Friday’s competition.

 

Friday, February 22, 2019

Desinee Lopez, continued her winning ways and will now advance to the semifinals on Saturday morning! She is still in the running for a possible 1st place finish.

Kyle Richards, lost his first match on Friday, however won his 2nd match. Because he has one loss, he will now compete for 3rd or 4th place tomorrow.

Miranda DiBenedetto, won her first match and then lost her 2nd match. She does however, still have a chance to compete for  7th or 8th place tomorrow.

Evan Taylor,  Lost his 1st match today. With two losses, his season has ended. Great season Evan. Being a State Qualifier is no joke! Congratulations!
