Multiple Teams · Another Exciting Weekend for Folsom H.S. Athletics


Folsom Football started off an exciting weekend on Friday evening, November 23 by defeating St Marys 52-7in the Sac Joaquin Section Semifinals. They will now compete in the Section Championships on Saturday, December 1 at Sac State at 8:00pm. They will play the winner of the Oak Ridge vs Monterey Trail game.

 

Also, last night, Folsom Football Alumni Jake Browning and Ariel Ngata, played for  the University of Washington and defeated the Washington State team in the Apple Cup 28-15. This is Jake Browning’s senior year  and he has been the starting quarterback all 4 years! Ariel is in his first year, He red shirted last year.  Now, the Huskies (9-3, 7-2 Pac-12) will face Utah in the conference title game next Friday in Santa Clara, California. The winner will earn a spot in the Rose Bowl. Good luck Huskies!

 

On Saturday,  November 24, sophomore, Spencer Pickren ran in the Cross Country State Championships. Spencer broke his personal best time for the 5K run in 16:15.

Folsom hosted our Annual Folsom Girls Wrestling Tournament today. 165 athletes competed. Folsom’s junior, Desinee Lopez finished 2nd place in the 116lb weight class. Other Folsom wrestlers, Clare Galloway, Kylie McNaught and Diamond Lopez competed in the earlier rounds.

 

And finally our Varsity Boys Basketball team traveled to Walnut Creek today and played Clayton Valley Charter at 2:00pm. They defeated the Eagles 81-54.
