On Saturday, March 25, at the Ron Ruptier Invitational hosted by Ponderosa High School, Folsom High School freshman, Sutter Holden, set a new meet record in the 300 LH at 43.30, which is also a PR. Holden ran away from the field early, earning a first place medal and a spot in the record books. Holden also placed 3rd, medaling in the 110HH at 17.27, also a PR. Other performances of note included a 5th place finish and PR in the boys’ varsity 1600M by junior, Wade Kiesow at 4:39.17. Kiesow also finished 3rd in the 3200M, at 10:09.90. Senior, Jacob Teodoro earned a 3rd place medal in the 110HH finishing at 16.07. The 4X400 relay consisting of Kaleb Outhavong, Ethan Atterberry, Oscar Sanchez, and Daniel Stoesser, placed 3rd with a time of 3:40.43.
The Lady Bulldogs also performed well, with freshman Gianna Scruggs placing 2nd in the varsity 100M at 12.93, and 2nd in the 200M at 26.55. Sophomore, Mariam Samara broke the 6 minute barrier for the first time in the frosh-soph girls’ 1600M, placing 4th at 5:53.51 a 7 second PR. Mariam also placed first in the frosh-soph 3200M at 12:58.75. Senior, Kat Copeland had an impressive double, taking the varsity 1600M race at 5:26.22, and placing 3rd in the 3200M at 11:53.69. The 4X100 relay consisting of Mahlea Hopkins, Gianna Scruggs, Jennifer Pollock, and Sarah Canzoneri placed 4th at 50.7.
The Folsom High School Bulldogs compete again at the Stanford Track & Field Invitational on Saturday, April 1, then at Woodcreek High School on Wednesday, April 5.
